George Ruleau Jr.

Obituary of George Ruleau Jr.

George Ruleau Jr, 95, of Tucson Arizona passed away, December 10, 2020.

George was born October 2, 1925 in Manistique Michigan, to George Ruleau Sr. and Elvera Ruleau. George enlisted in the Army/Air force in 1943, and received a silver star, bronze star, good conduct medal, and an air medal with two bronze oak leaf clusters.

After returning to Manistique, he met the love of his life, Bernice Michaels, they were married in 1958, sharing 56 wonderful years together. George went on to have a career in truck driving, which led to his love for the road and traveling. After retirement, they moved to Tucson, full-time. Throughout their marriage, George and Bernice traveled to numerous places, always leading them back to Manistique, to visit with family and friends. It wouldn’t surprise any of his nieces or nephews if “Uncle Sonny” just showed up, stayed for a few days, then with a grin and a “Sayonara”, he was back to his travels.

While at home in Tucson, George and Bernice could be found in the mountains, finding the perfect additions for their rock garden, which they both took pride in.

George was preceded in death by his parents: George Sr. and Elvera Ruleau, Sisters: Edna Cornell and Lois Archey, Wife: Bernice, Niece: Jan (Archey) Donnelly. He is survived by several Nieces and Nephews.
