Obituary of Benjamin Taylor Tweedy

Benjamin (Ben) Taylor Tweedy, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 4th, 2021. 

He was born in Lynchburg, VA on October 29, 1945 to Robert Taylor Tweedy and Leovigilda Tweedy. 

Ben served in the Army for two years during the Vietnam War.

He met his wife, Linni Renee Tweedy, in their hometown of Tucson, AZ and they were married on December 11, 1975.  Ben was well known in the Engineering and Mining industries.  He began his career with Westinghouse, GE, then spent 25 years with Industrial Motors and Control, and retired with Keller Electrical.

Ben had a great passion for his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many very close friends.  Ben was a huge football fan but his loyalty was to the Dallas Cowboys.

Ben loved being on the lake in his boat, spending time at his home in Rocky Point Mexico, pretending to be Elvis playing his guitar, and off-roading in his purple buggy and Razor. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Tita, Nancy, Robbie and Danny. 

He is survived by his wife Linni of 47 years, children Tyler (Tara) and Tenille (Justin), grandchildren Taylor, Jamilynn, Caitlin and Presley; sisters Hilda, Alene and Diana as well as many extended family members and very close friends

Ben brought a smile and a laugh to everyone he came in contact with and will be sorely missed by everyone.

The Tweedy family wishes to express a heartfelt THANK YOU to all those that have shared their love, condolences, and continuous prayers. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Ben’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
